It’s no secret: the relationship status between client and agency can range from intense love to “it’s complicated.” We’ve seen it all at Hochburg. But that the client would spontaneously take the Hochburg team back to Stuttgart in a historic airplane after the first date — that was new to us.
LUFTRAUM SÜD
It’s no secret: the relationship status between client and agency can range from intense love to “it’s complicated.” All of which we’ve (of course) experienced at Hochburg. But when a client spontaneously invites the Hochburg team to their hangar after the first date — that was new for us (and pretty awesome).
Back to reality: KFG Luftfahrt GmbH & Co. KG has a huge passion for historic aviation. In the Ostalb region, they own a hangar housing a collection of over 40 exquisite aircraft in various propeller sizes from the pioneering days of aviation. It’s a grand scale—lots of space, many ideas, and plenty of opportunities to showcase this field and open it up to the world.
This area had to be launched as a brand from scratch—by and with the people who came to admire the hangar. The brand aims to inspire enthusiasm for historic aviation, fulfill big dreams, and allow visitors to immerse themselves for a few hours in a past aviation experience. It serves as an event location where other brands can showcase their products across a large space.
Luftraum Süd can now take off with its new branding. A modular toolkit with various assets is available, usable from the hangar door and aircraft to team wear and digital platforms. Always focused on the symbiosis of technology, aerospace, airport excitement, and playground adventure. Boarding completed by Hochburg. Last call at Gate Luftraum Süd. Time to head home to Hirschstraße.

Luftraum Süd Branding — 2022
The new mascot Foxy. Created and illustrated by Hochburg.
With this theme and rollback setting, the imagination naturally drives the creative process—until the name Luftraum Süd, along with the abbreviated wordmark LSR, stood bold and angular. The typography and colors create a bridge between aeronautical romance and clean, modern aesthetics, leaving a lasting impression on diverse audiences. For family Sundays and Porsche presentations alike. For wide-eyed kids and sober tech enthusiasts.
The biggest highlight: Hochburg invented, developed, and illustrated the new mascot Foxy entirely in-house, integrating him into the stamp logo. Foxy—the hero of the skies, the cool and fearless Captain of Luftraum Süd. Foxy will be joined by two more characters, forming a trio that opens up endless possibilities—from coloring books and toys to a full animated series. The perfect vehicle for limitless storytelling. Foxy takes off and brings the whole family along to the heights of the Swabian Alb.
